By using credit responsibly, including your Wells Fargo Secured Card, you can go a long way in building strong and healthy credit.
A Secured Card works like any other credit card, and can be used wherever Visa credit cards are accepted, but requires a deposit to fund your “Collateral Account”.
You deposit $300-$10,000 into a "Collateral Account." Your credit line will directly reflect the amount of your deposit.
You still need to make monthly payments toward any balance you accrue, as with any other credit card.
Upon approval of your application, we will transfer the funds from the Wells Fargo checking or savings account you provide to open the Collateral Account. This can take approximately 7 – 10 days and these funds will need to be available in your account to process the transfer and open your account.
Secured Card accounts are reviewed periodically and may qualify to be graduated to an unsecured credit card and have the Collateral Account funds refunded1.
